Compress PDF to Target Size

Compress a PDF toward 100KB, 200KB, 500KB, 1MB, 2MB or a custom target. Processing happens locally in your browser and the generated file size is verified before download.

2. Choose target size

The target is a goal. The actual generated size is measured before the result is reported.
Important: this browser-local method rebuilds each page as a compressed page image. The visual pages remain, but selectable text, form fields, hyperlinks, bookmarks, signatures and other interactive PDF features may be flattened or lost. Keep your original PDF.
Large PDF note: documents from 101 to 200 pages are supported, but processing may take several minutes. After you click Compress PDF, keep this tab open until processing completes. On low-memory phones or older computers, very large PDFs may still fail even when they are under the page and file-size limits.

How this PDF compressor works

PDFs can contain fonts, text, photos, vectors, forms and other resources, so no single quality setting guarantees an exact file size. This tool renders pages in the browser and rebuilds the document from compressed page images, trying progressively stronger settings and measuring each generated PDF.

Because this changes the PDF's internal structure, use the original file when selectable text, forms, links, signatures or other advanced PDF features must be retained.

Compress PDF to Target Size FAQ

How do I compress a PDF to 200KB?

Upload it, choose 200KB and run compression. The result shows the actual generated size.

Can it make a PDF exactly 100KB?

Not always. The tool aims for at or below the requested target but reports honestly when the target cannot be reached.

Does compression reduce quality?

It can. Smaller targets require lower page-image quality or resolution.

Will selectable text and forms still work?

Not with this method. Pages are flattened into compressed images.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. The compression operation runs locally in your browser.
